Catherine Clack joined the Rice University community in 1981 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from St. Edward’s University. She worked for seven years in the Office of Admissions before becoming the founding director of the university’s Office of Multicultural Affairs (began in the late 1980s as the Office of Minority Affairs). In her forty years at Rice, she has helped to power many of the university’s efforts toward becoming a more inclusive and equitable place. From a position defined by a deep involvement in campus life, she has also witnessed and worked to address some of the most stubborn challenges we still face. Please join us to explore the pioneering work of Catherine Clack, and to gain a vital perspective on transformations at the university since the early 1980s.
